想请问的是：正确选项B的……an event that greatly reduced their numbers 和后面的非划线部分 and thus our genetic variation 又是怎么保持平行的呢？看不粗来……

这道题我想问E选项 除了so as to会有语义错误之外，结尾的reduce their numbers greatly，and thus our genetic variation有没有错？我记得好像逗号加and后面必须是完整的句子吧？ 如果是名词并列的话，不需要最后一个逗号：A,B and C就可以吧？

看到and，先想平行

这个题目，还可以从选项开始词进行判断。破折号就是 表示解释说明前面的某个东西，而后面是个句子，肯定是that开头的能够更好的解释说明。

我觉得，这里的and前面不加逗号，是因为要并列的对象只有两个还都是名词：numbers和variation。当有三个或以上的名词要并列时，and是要有逗号的，如OG13 的134题：Recently implemented "shift-work equations" based on studies of the human sleep cycle have reduced sickness, sleeping on the job, and fatigue among shift workers while raising production efficiency in various industries.这里and前面有逗号，但是是名词的并列，不一定是你说的完整的句子。。你说的那个好像是“Taylor is ..., and she does something. ”这种情况。。两个句子并列的话加上逗号会清楚一些      我说的有点乱希望能帮到你额。。

and our和an event不可能产生平行的歧义，因为如果平行，那么“ancestors suffered thus our genetic variation” does not make sense
