Personal Statement

It is said thatsome people with kind of atavistic vomeronasal organ havespecial ability to “see” people as different animals in reflection of theirpeculiarities without knowing them before. Then, if I was in front of such aperson, a bird longing for fly must be seen. With the childish dreamof being a pilot, I hesitated not a bit to dedicate my heart and soul into aero-engineeringonce I came to realize that it is engineers who give birth to planes. Withsound base of mechanics and auto-control and strong ability of cooperation andleadership accumulated in undergraduate section, I believe I can achieve and devoutmore during and after my graduate study in your program.


As an enthusiastof model airplane, I began to craft my own gliders ever since I was in primaryschool. After several years of R/C model training by myself, I then was theNational Champion of Pattern Flying at the end of my high school. I always takeWilliam Penn’s saying as my motto: a man, like a watch, is valued by his mannerof going. And I just did what I had persisted through the years in all myundergraduate life. This also led to my career goal ofbeing able to build micro UAV systems to meet different demands from people invarious realms. Creating, which gives me chance to challenge, will bethe theme melody of my life.


I know that whowould climb the ladder must begin at the bottom. I treated my precious scientificexperiences as footstone and paid all what I had to fulfill them, just as Idescribed in my statement of purpose. Yet I am not a workaholic towards life atall.


I am a man whohas full-scale passion in everyday life. As the member of soccer, badminton,baseball, and football team in the college, sports are my favorites! My zealfor communicating with different kind of people also helps me a lot dealingwith interpersonal relationships during team working no matter I am a leader orjust a member. I volunteered lots of my holiday on helping disabled citizens inmy community, which taught me to respect and be thankful for today’s life.Another memorable thing in my extracurricular life was that I held a themeevening party in order to raise our voice against torture of animals as theonly organizer. Hopelessly persuaded the school for permission in specialpolitic period, finally got the sponsorship from IFAW at the last moment wewere to gave up, we made our every single effort dealing with pressure from allaspects. Without successful team work there was no way we got all sponsorships,performers, stage properties, banquets, participants in position. We still hada really bunch of donations received at the end ofparty. I am, also, tow students’ societies’ president (mentioned in my CV). Inboth societies we have various activities periodically including cross-universityor even NGO involving campaigns.


My continuously embracingthe world will not be hindered. I am planning on more volunteering works in Asiawhere education is mostly needed. Hoping that through my efforts little differencewill be made. To the same in my professional career, I will use what I get inthis program solving “tiny” but meaningful problems for society.

感觉楼主花了很多心思，文采也不错呀，还用了不少我不怎么冻的单词。呵呵。

我个人感觉是，内容有点多，不够深入，让人有一种空了点的感觉。。。

不过听说改essay最好还是让外国人（母语是英语的人）来帮忙修改，这样更专业。
