770, awa4.0, 值得重考吗？

你看，你都快让我佩服死了。我作文没你高，3.5。分数也比你差，760。

但我想我对自己有信心，我要继续努力，争取最好的学校。但我不准备重考，我还是先把essays搞好吧。

刚才写了一篇AWA，我忘了用事先背过的特别有用的句式了，现在已经在半个小时内，写了500字，要不要全部删除，从头再来？或者要不要重新再考一次。。。

哇，最近作文分不高的怎么这么多？我awa也不高，gmat分数也没有这个兄弟高，本来打算rescore的，现在连这个都不打算了。很多学校都不看重awa的，再说如果essay如果写的好，完全可以弥补这个缺陷。

More than enough for any American school, I think. You are a Chinese, so AWA 4.0 is basically not too bad. Forget retaking GMAT. Besides, TWA is more important than AWA. If  you have TWA 5+, forget AWA. Some Canadian schools may concern TWA, but not AWA.

Put more energy on essays. Never think of the GMAT anymore. I bet you'll get admitted by any American Bschool if you have good essay and  strong work experience.

Yesterday we listened to Linda, an authority of admission, 's opinion. She explicitly mentioned that high GMAT will not pass the threshold, but wonderful essays will.

Therefore, I think essay is more important than GMAT and AWA. Please pay more attention to the more important task.

In addition, the subject of your post seems truely startling.  Most of CDers would be baffled when we know someone wants to retake GMAT after getting 770 and 4.0.  If you do retake, you do a legend.

I can see your situation. In 1999, you could score 5.5 for AWA, but this time it's just 4.0. understood, understood.

I am new to this board, and I don't know about Linda. A previous guy mentioned essay is more important according to Linda. I admit it should be right for MBA problem. what about Ph.D in Finance?   Anybody has any serious comments on Ph.D in Finance for this guy?

就有學校會認為你是test taker, 這真的對你不利

如樓上幾位所說，你的重點是寫好essay，如此足矣

这个简直有点像我现在有500万了，可惜不都是cash啊（美中不足阿），我要不要再追求1000万呢，那样的话，我就更牛了，而且说不定就都是cash了。。。
