[attachimg]111340[/attachimg] Do you want spend your whole times at universitymerely in studying boring subjects like math, science, biology and so on? Doyou want put your entire mind into library or research laboratory the whole 4years? Do you want be considered by your college classmates as a bookworm?Absolutely not! As a modern university’s students, we all know the importanceof sports and social activities. From our high school, we were informed thatsports were basic areas of the subjects we should learn which were as importantas other subjects. Sport is a considerably effective way for us to makeourselves stay in a good shape which provides an additional advantage for ourfuture career development. For instance, my best friend Lisa was apply for aposition of administrative assistant last month, after attitude tests only 2 candidatesleft at the end, who had similar educational background and workingexperiences. Lisa is one of them. And the corporation had to make analternative between Lisa and another girl, HR chose Lisa without anyhesitation. Do you want to know why? The answer is another candidate’s weightis almost 160 pounds but Lisa keeps a good shape for years. What’s more, sportsare capable of offering us an opportunity to relax when we were fed up withtiresome studying. I regularly invited my friends to play tennis with me afterI finished a chain of rather complicated researches. Social activities are an inevitable part ofour university lives. Any famous university has its own Alumni Club which isconsist of its outstanding graduates, like Harvard Club at New York. Attendingactivities which held by those clubs, you will meet oceans of excellentgraduates who set a good example for you to become the best person you can be.On the other hand, social activities contribute to the improvement of yourcommunication skills, responsibility and leadership which will become a uniqueand invaluable wealth to you. Compare to libraries and classes which arefocus on student’s academic skills, sports and social activities are moreconcerned with students’ health and interpersonal skills. For students’ furtherdevelopment, none of them should be ignored and invisible. I hold my standpointthat sports and social activities should receive equal financial support fromthe university and college as classes and library do. Universities should putthe overall development of students as their educational goal instead ofpartial development. |
