whatever reason you give, guess you should be prepared that adcom might ask for supportive proof. health problem: be specific and reasonable, but not a very serious one of course. for example, you broke your leg? nah, i'm not too good at "making up" things. you might need to be a bit "creative" here. doubt though if they would ask for a certificate from hospital. so guess it should be pretty safe. study: guess you will need to provide title/date/transcript/certificate etc, unless you've really studied a course then, better not to use this one. part-time at a friend's company: you could talk to this friend in advance and work out some details to make it look "real" in case they do check with your friend. but again, i doubt if a top school has time to do that. in summary, i would think the possibility of their checking this "gap" is very "low", so as long as you could "make your ends meet", it should be fine... don't feel good giving you these advices...after all, cheating, in whatever form, for whatever purpose, is not good...think about it, and make your choice whether to be honest or not. good luck. |
