求助prep08sc上一个关于than的问题

Test1 218题补充说明中，

(OG10-19)In addition to having more protein than wheat does, (B选项)rice has protein of higher quality than that in wheat, with more of the amino acids essential to the human diet.

(GWD-29-24)According to recent studies comparing the nutritional value of meat from wild animals and meat from domesticated animals, wild animals have less total fat than livestock fed on grain and more of a kind of fat thought to be good for cardiac health.

根据笔记的解释，第一句比较的是protein，所以后面要加上 that in wheat；第二句比较的是wild animals和livestock，所以不加that of在 livestock前。。。可是我的理解是：（取关键词理解）
第一句rice has protein of higher quality than that in wheat
第二句wild animals have less total fat than (that of) livestock
两句一个基本一样，一个比较protein，一个比较fat。。。

所以现在懵了。。。求哪位大神来给我解释一下啊。。。跪谢了。。。

宾语比较，一般加that/those，避免歧义
1. In addition to having more protein than wheat does, rice has protein of higher quality than that in wheat, with more of the amino acids essential to the human diet.
假如你这道题，不添加that，则变成rice has protein of higher quality than wheat，产生歧义；
2.wild animals have less total fat than (that of) livestock，假如这道题你不加，不会有任何歧义，主语和主语就同一宾语在比较。。。。。

那第一句的歧义是什么啊？

rice含protein比含wheat多？

那这么说，第二句不加that of，也有歧义啊，wild animal含脂肪比含牲畜少。。。。

还是不太明白啊，为什么第一句有that in，第二句不能加that of？

第一句比较的是宾语，要补出that；第二句比较的是主语，不需要补出。根据than前半部分比较级的位置，即可判断要比较的主体，前面是主谓，比较的是主语则不需要补出；前面是主谓宾比较的是宾语时，则需要补出。
但是和您说一句，这种所谓的原则，有时候GMAT本身都会违反，所以确定是不是split，再来定是否语义meaning上有歧义，再定夺是不是要加that或者助动词，千万不要在未划线题目本身钻进去出不来。

假如你这道题，不添加that，则变成rice has protein of higher quality than wheat，产生歧义；
2.wild animals have less total fat than (that of) livestock，假如这道题你不加，不会有任何歧义，主语和主语就同一宾语在比较。。。。。

对于比较结构 我背了一个例句便于分析
I eat more than you.
I eat more apple than you do.
规则为主谓结构比较主语时可省略谓语,主谓宾结构比较主语时补充出谓语以便引起歧义.

本题只讨论BC选项
According to recent studies comparing the nutritional value of meat from wild animals and meat from domesticated animals, wild animals have less total fat than do livestock fed on grain and more of a kind of fat they think is good for cardiac health.

感觉C的补充更加完善 wild animals have less total fat than livestock会不会给人一种total fat和livestock在比较的感觉?
