    PhD position in "Simulations of Bio-molecules"

A  hD position in Computational Molecular Biology is  available at NJIT (New  Jersey Institute of Technology) within the group of Prof. Cristiano Dias. This position involves collaboration with researchers at  Aalto University  (Finland), Freie  University  Berlin  (Germany)  and Kasetsart  University  (
Thailand).  In  Dias'  lab  we use large-scale numerical simulations to study emerging phenomena in molecular biology. Examples of systems we are currently studying are protein folding and states of amyloid peptides involved in diseases. We use all-atom simulations and coarse-grained models of peptides and solvent. This is an excellent opportunity for curious and inquisitive minds wanting to explore complex phenomena accounting for life and diseases at the molecular level.
NJIT is a vibrant school located  at about 20 minutes by train from New York city. Its physics  department  houses 19 professors whose  work  ranges  from  Astrophysics  to condensed Matter Physics. Close interaction is  expected  with the Biophysics group at NJIT  which carries experimental  work  in  Living  Cells and Vesicles with biomedical applications.
