10.3 Patience is not a goodstrategy, we should take action now rather than later.

Nowadays, withthe gradually fiercer competition in the society, people’s life pace is alsobecoming more and more frantic and quick, which renders to a  common phenomenon that modern people arelacking of patience. Recently, a different voice comes out that being patientis not a proper strategy in dealing with affairs in the modern world. However,I truly disagree with it. In this essay, I will provide some evidence to rebutthe idea above.

To begin with, the definition of patience should not bemessed up with the definition of indolence. They are totally different from each other. Patience means that after judging from the situation, individualshave the ability to wait for something to appear. It can be a better chance or a more mature opportunity. Once the proper condition turns out, people who are patient enough waiting for it will be more likely to succeed than others. However, indolence means laziness whichmeans that indolent people won’t do their work until they have to. Even a greatopportunity standing in front of them, they won’t catch it. Therefore, peoplewho are indolence will never get well-prepared for their tasks, which will leads them into plight situation. In a word, patience means that getting well-prepared for the coming opportunity, but indolence means doing nothingeven the chance turns out.

In addition, no matter in old or in modern society, a person who has enough patience always has more chances to be succeed than a person whois not patient enough. Quantities of examples can be found in the history. The founder of KFC restaurant,Colonel Harland Sanders, he succeeded after 1009 failures; The Chinese great historical writer, Zhanqian, spent more than 10 years to accomplish his book.Similar cases are countless I cannot list them here one by one. But we can drawa conclusion that without patience, people can’t acquire great success, becausepatience is a special personality that make our mind peace and enable us toprepare well for the coming unknown rather than do things imprudently andrecklessly. There is an old adage that Chance favors the prepared mind. But if you wantto get well prepared, you must be patient enough. Therefore, it means thatpatience make you prepared and preparations make you succeed. Without each one,people cannot be successful in any condition.

Inconclusion, patience is great factor contributing a splendid life. It’s wisefor you to use your patience to wait for the chance and once it appears, youshould try your best to catch it as soon as possible.

The best way to increase students’ interest in a subjectis to teach them the significance of the subject outside of school.
Currently,with the gradually fiercer competition in the society, the significantnecessity of education has been accentuated again and again by the government.In order to improve student’s interest in a discipline and the educationquality, different individuals hold various opinions. Some deem that the mostuseful way is to tell them the significant applying of the subject in the society.Since I am firmly in support of the idea above, in this essay, I will provideevidence to testify it.

Tobegin with, curiosity and interest are the best teachers for students toobserve and study something. In order to stimulate students interesting, anusually method used by the teachers is to tell the students that if they couldlearn the subject well, they would be able to accomplish great achievements. Inmost of the cases, the students knowing this information will have greatambition to study the subject, which might be able to be explained by the human’snature. Specifically, most people has the hope to be admired by other peopleand knowing the significance of the subject can give them a prospect that theycan be a admirable person. In this way, they will be eager to learn a subject.

Inaddition, knowing the significance of a subject outside the school can providestudents with a specific goal to prevent some students from straying and otherfactors which lead students to an improper road. Take myself as a livingexample. When I was in middle school, I didn’t get on well with my Physicsteacher. Once it was his classes, I would always saying loudly and play tricks.As a result, I have no interest in Physics until one specific day when I waswatching TV at home. I saw beautiful picture on the screen which depicts that aastronaut was spacewalking, which impressed me a lot. I was thinking that ifI can learn Physics well, I can be a astronaut in the future. After this time, Iam full of interest to learn Physics, and in the final exam I take the firstplace in my class, which confused my Physics teacher quite a while. Concludefrom my experience, without stimulating by the TV, I couldn’t have been sointerested in Physics. Therefore, the influence of knowing the significance is permanentand quite conspicuous.

In conclusion, it is wise for teachers to informtheir students of the significance of a subject, which can surely give them an cogentmotivation to learn it with interesting and seriousness.

Do you agree or disagree with thefollowing statement: The government and corporation should share all theirscientific discoveries with other countries in the world?

Recently,with the gradually fiercer competition in the society, the amount and quality ofscientific discoveries have become an important aspect to estimatea country or a company’s competence.Some individuals argue that the government and corporation should share alltheir scientific discoveries with other countries. However, contrary to theopinion is my heartfelt agreement that the discoveries should not be sharedwith other countries without any limitation.

Tobegin with, one fundamental definition we should be aware of is the role and theaim of a government and a corporation, which is that they are founded to protecttheir people from outer threats and disasters and to maximize the profits theirpeople acquire. Although the scientist discover new theories and newtechnologies to improve the life quality of all the humans and prevent ourbeautiful home away from catastrophes, we cannot deny that fact that thereexists boundaries between different countries and not all the people arefriendly to each other. If the scientific discoveries are used by some devilpeople, it is a disaster to the world. In this circumstance, sharing thescientific discoveries with each other should not be permitted and it is alsounrealistic to make it come true.

Inaddition, if we consume a situation that all the countries are willing to sharetheir own scientific discoveries with other countries. Then, a new problem willarouse that a certain number of scientists will gradually lose theirmotivations and responsibility to do research, because they can acquire new andadvanced technology from other countries and what they need to do is justwaiting. When I was in high school, my physics teacher gave us a task to do aexperiment which needs to complete in groups. In my group, my friend Danial  is extremely good at physics and he cancomplete the experiment all by himself. In this case, our group members leftthe task to him and we just watched by his side. Although all of us got a highscore at last but we lose a opportunity to sharpen our skills. Our membersbecame indolent because they knew that Dannial will help them. Judging from myexperience, we can clearly see that, at sometimes, sharing the information isnot a proper way.
However,it does make sense that in some circumstances, sharing information can improvethe efficiency of working. To evade the drawbacks of sharing the scientificdiscoveries, some limitation should be erected. Such as charging fee whensharing with others. Once they need to pay for the information, they will notget lazy on their own work. Then, the owner can also decide whether or not toshare their discoveries for fear that their discoveries will do harm to themselvesor the world.

Tosum up, the government and corporation should not share all their scientificdiscoveries without any limitation. Only by setting some proper restrictions canwe avoid the negative effects of sharing science and technology.
