因为从上面的例子上看 可以加主语 表示的是两个句子的并列

如果不加主语表示的是两个谓语动词的并列

加不加主语是不是都可以 但到目前为止 见到的倒装句中都是but also 后是要加主语的

2. 本题的是but的转折含义，不是not only , but also的并列含义.

3. 关于not only, but also的倒装句, 英语语法大全上的例句是:

Not only did they break into his office and steal his books, but they also tore up his manucripts.

but可以省略:

Not only did he protest, he also refused to pay his taxes.

4. 如果not only产生倒装, 那么意味着平行的对象是句子, 所以后面的主语自然不能省略.

not only.... but also...是主从句，虽然表示并列递进的关系。

not only引导的部分是主句，从句是but also后面的句子。所以not only位于句首可以倒装，but also后面不能倒装，因为从句必须是正常语序。

任何句子必须有主语谓语，包括从句。在所有的引导从句的关系代词/副词中只有that/which/what 可以代替从句的主语或宾语。其他连接词都不可以。所以除了上面提到的三种连接词外，其他连接词引导的从句必须有主语。but also在从句中不作任何成分，所以后面句子必须是完整的，即有完整的主语和谓语。

另外 not only 后面可以只有but或只有also甚至什么都没有。

可以只有also，但用法有区别，not only ... but also...后句的but 或 bu also都要求在句首，如果是单独接also则是在句中。not only you ..... John also... 这样的。

我也觉得这是一个表示转折的句子，跟not only....but also没什么关系。
