65. Every individual in a society has a responsibility to obey just laws and to disobey and resist unjust laws.
社会中的每个人都应该遵守公平的法律,不遵守或者违抗不公平的法律。(461)
Laws are a kind of behavior norms, constraining people, protecting the interests of them and making society orderly. Of course, every person has a duty to obey laws and according to legal ways to appeal for altering unjust laws. But, what is really the just or unjust laws? The gouging standards of different regions varies from each other.what's more, things are always changing including laws. It's imprecise to categorize laws into only two sort---just and unjust ones.
It is deniable that people should adhere to laws in civilized era. Without laws, the state and the whole society will be in disarray: if we buy a inferior good spending a lot of money, we only stay at home and complain such bad luck and the merchant are not responsible for that; after working so hard , the boss doesn't pay us; people can even kill others with his or her willingness and don't be punished. We need laws to protect the interests of us and to give a punch to those wicked.
Laws are made by humans, which surely exist the unjust or bias points, ignored when enacting. It's our duty to urge the authority to amend or revise such laws with proper legal ways, making them more sound and fair. While using improper methods ,such as launching a turmoil, threatening the security, to resist may broke the balance of society even harm the development of a country.
However, what's the accurate definition of impartial or partial statutes? Dividing the laws to these two kinds is too simple. Is it just when sacrifice minors' interests to protect the majorities' ? Laws can't satisfy everyone's desire, and sometimes it has no choice but overlook some individual's benefits to maintain the steady of community.
Furthermore, each state has its own laws depending its special conditions and changing with the transitions of people's values. For example, death penalty, allows in many Asian countries but not in America or other states. Someone consider it's unfair due to laking humanism and others think to those crimes in felony, only capital punishment can warn people that the cost of breaching the laws is elephantine even life. We can't value which one is fair or not since those laws are on the basis of different countries' situations. Other cases like abortion , homosexual marriage ,which were forbidden in the past, passing through many hard times, now gradually become legal in some places.
That regarding laws as just or not is imprecise and too simple. Laws are complicated , impacted by many factors. Only if people hew to the laws, legal system will gradually improve. And laws also need to amend continually with the social progress. Using illegal ways to disobey the unjust laws can even bring about counterproductive results.
