新手申请MFE求定位，GPA较低。。。

小弟今年大三，数学系，GPA 3.3，major 还要再低一点。。。GRE V 161, Q 168, AW 3.5,  T 110。无科研，实习现在只有一个水证券，下学期可能可以稍微提高一下。 这样背景MFE能申什么学校？ 求各位指点一二，感激不尽。

MFE这东西，明智的做法就是从上往下申，tier 1到1.5，tier 2选几个career service好的（比如UMich和GaTech）。再往下的话，难找工作，毕竟top mfe加起来每年能有四五百人的毕业生，而现在的经济状况可能会导致相当长时间的hiring freeze。

所以也就那么几个学校可申（10个左右），定位没有太大意义。

我心目中的排名
tier 1: Princeton/Berkeley/CMU/NYU/Stanford
tier 1.5: Columbia (FE)/Chicago/UCLA/Baruch/Cornell
tier 2: UMich, GaTech （还有别的不过真的不了解了）

I love getting questions like this.  Why?  Because you have a GREAT background dude!  All you need is...some research experience.  How can you come up with some?  We neeeed some to crack one of the highly coveted MFE programs out there.  Now remember, as you do your research you will find many different types of these degrees--schools like to mix and match what THEY all call their "MFE" programs.  Sometimes they are in the business department, sometimes in math, etc.  So you will have to do some serious digging to find good programs.  Some other good news tho--some of the BEST programs out there are also relatively easy to get into.  So as a safety program, you may be able to look in some...unexpected places. Rutgers, Georgia Tech, even Toronto--if you dont get into a stretch program (and if you can amass some good research you should apply) you can find some great safeties out there.
