assumption就是喂牲口是导致粮食短缺的原因

道理很简单  类似于
A  ， 所以B-->C  那assumption就是A 无法-->C

题的关键是这个assumption要得出"not merely"的结论，注意不是"not"，区别在于not是否定，not merely是补充不足，不仅仅

Some People的逻辑: A1 (资源有限) + A2 (人口增长) -> B scarcity of food

作者的逻辑需要是A1 + A2 + A3 ->B

这个A3就像2楼说的，一半食物被livestock吃了，所以答案就是如果这一半的地不喂livestock就可以给更多人吃了。

作者是素食主义者。。

c说的的是earth’s agricultural resources are not finite.文章说的是finite所以相反

E的意思是Growing crops for human consumption on the acreage （currently devoted to crops for livestock） will yield more food for more people.

目前土地被用来种给牲口吃的农作物，而这些土地如果用来种给人吃的crops，那么可以提供给更多人更多的食物。

也就是符合作者的观点：牲口也是导致食物短缺的一个因素。

我是这么做的：
1. 先找结论： 食物短缺不仅仅是因为limited resources and population growth.
2. 再找前提：因为有一半的食物都被家畜吃了
然后题目问assumption;
通常这个时候我会想一下有没有logical gap, 看到这个推理，我想到的是：为啥有一半的食物被家畜吃了就说明食物短缺不仅仅是因为limited resources and population growth呢？
然后看到5个选项，只有E在讲家畜和养活人之间的关系，那么就重点看E：
E为啥是对的呢：E的意思是这一半的土地如果用来种植作物的话，能养活更多的人；那就说明食物短缺还有其它原因比如说有人就是要滥用土地养家畜；那如果取非取极端的话，假设这块土地种不出来人能吃的植物呢？那，这块地用来种给livestock吃的东西不是很正常吗？还为人类提供了多余的食物呢！
（p.s.我觉得真正到考场上我不会想为啥E是对的，看到logical gap和E我会直接选的）
