First,considering that people nowadays are under overwhelming pressure from theincreasing number of competitors resulting from the growth of population, theywill be more motivated in the process of knowledge gaining. For example, my brotheris a high school student who has a big college entrance examination waiting forhim. In order to excel in the exam, he has been working hard for more than twoyears. As a result, my brother wasforced to absorb knowledge in many aspects successfully, which is unimaginableto people a hundred years ago

problem and still he cannot solve it. On one hand, hedoesn't learn anything from this
problem-solution; on the other hand, his father willhave to spend the same amount of time again
to help him.
However,sometimes, it is more efficient to solve problems by asking for parents' help. Under
some circumstances, the reason that children cannotsolve problems is that they do not understand
certain points or they work toward a totally wrongdirection. In this way, it is parents' duty to give
kids proper guidance and instruction. Or theirchildren will spend numerous time in vain.
As we can see above, despite the fact that parents'help bears meaning to their kids to some extent
children could get more benefits from independentlysolving problems with the encouragement of

However, notall the advices from old grandparents have no use for their grandchildren. Somethinggood qualities are useful and meaningful in any decades, no matter what theworld has changed into. Person should be kind, loyal, brave, and helpful. Theseare the grandparents always say to their grandchildren. The world can bechanged by people, but some of the personality should never be changed by theworld. This is a perpetual truth from past till now, even in the future.Therefore, if your grandparents advice you to be a good person, just accept theirwords.
In conclusion, I cannot totally agree with thearguments that all the advice from our grandparents have no use for theirgrandchildren because the world changed a lot during the past 50 years. Virtually,it mostly depends on what the advice is. Something can be changed by thedecades and the society, but something will be last for a long time and alwaystrue.
