說真話，工作機會(特別是美國當地的)，還是芝加哥及西北的機會比較多

it is really difficult to apply for MBA with few working experience, but I think its pretty easy to apply MS-in-Accounting program in UICU, there is also lot of Chinese student studying in UIUC.

I wanna know the cost of uiuc(including tuition and living expenses) and how many people were admitted every year from China mainland.

Is  the reputation of uiuc mba in Chinese ib and consulting field as good as other same level top us mba?What is the focus or strength of uicu mba ?

我在02年拿到过UIUC的ad，后来因为其它原因没有去，现在申请加拿大的学校，对美国学校的最新情况没有关注，只能介绍一点当时了解的情况。

02年UIUC大概从大陆录取了十几个，我见过4个（除我之外），当时我是3年外企技术工作经验，其他4个人的工作经验都比我长很多，最长的一个有将近10年的工作经历，是一家上市公司的co-founder。但我们几个人的共同特点是G都不太高，我记得好像没有一个人在700以上。所以我觉得该校对中国学生比较友好，但还是很看重工作经验。这4个人最后都去了，有3个是当年去的，1个因为签证原因没走成，第2年重新申请的（该校对因为签证原因不能去的学生不给defer，不退deposit，第二年必须重新申请，但第二年申请如果成功头一年交的deposit可以转到学费里面。）

在01年11月的MBA TOUR上我见过该校的招生人员（不记得是不是ad dir了），在他们的booth简单聊了几句，虽不是正式的interview，但他们对谈话情况进行了认真的记录，后来没有interview过，所以我感觉那次简单的谈话可能部分取代了interview，而且对录取可能起了一定的作用。

至于essay，我记得以前的题目都是比较常见到题目，好像没有上面列的那些。学费方面，我不知道现在的情况，02的情况是UIUC大学费好像并不比那些比它排名高很多的学校便宜。当然，他是公立学校，比私立学校要便宜。

当时UIUC只排40几名，但该校这几年上升很快，似乎已经挤进（或是逼近）top 20了。

我虽没有去，但与那几个去了的xdjm保持着联系，他们今年毕业，看样子就业情况不是很好，他们一致认为该校较偏僻的地理位置是一个严重的劣势，他们甚至认为除了top 10的那些学校之外，选校时最值得关注的就是学校的位置，因为这是对找工作最重要的一个因素。

I strongly agree with soimfriend, actually, my friend graduating from Illinois in 2002, he tried a lot of efforts to find his job in IB field at that time. But he still was rejected, he said all his opponents always comes from Chicago and Northwestern, Illinois is somewhat weaker than the two school's students.

Finally, he got two job in UBS HongKong brench, but his pay is less than that of Chicago or Northwestern.

Although Illinois is just far from Chicago city by 2 hours(car driving), but the location is of less people and few big companies. Anyway, it is a quite good school and treat Chinese students well.

But I wonna get some comments about the difference between george washington university and uiuc.

after graduation,I would like to come back to mainland or hongkong.which one is more suitable for me?
