Should the nation adopt policy that all hestudents study the nation national curriculum until they enter college? Thespeaker says yes, however, I do not agree with the speaker. For instance, diverse curriculum can bring benefits to the nation for it will contribute tothe progress of a nation. And curriculum what are not all the same are alsogood for shaping the students' future and making the teachers' expediency inteaching. In the level of the entire nation, talentedpeople are needed everywhere. However, the same national curriculum may hamperstudents' being on fire for what they truly love, and therefore lead to anation's lack of diversity and enthusiasm of creativity. Some people may arguethat same curriculum is the base of a nation's unity, which embodies the solidarityof country. Nevertheless, from my perspective, same curriculum will fetterstudents' thinking pattern, which can lead to unsatisfactory from students andeven parents, and even more seriously, might render students' unwilling tostudy. In this way, a nation is so precarious that many teenagers are no longerstudy basic scientific knowledge. Additionally, if national curriculum isrequited, teachers of both high schools and colleges will confront some severesituations that they don't what. Imagine this, if a teacher is good at prosesrather than poems, but he is asked to teach Shakespeare's sonnet, the teacherwill use much time doing things that he don't like. As we can see, it will torturethe teacher a lot, and he will have less time in doing what he likes. On thecontrary, however, if the content of classes can be chosen by the teachers andthe students, this teacher can fulfill his teaching in the way he likes andperform better in the class. On the other hand, college teachers will meet abatch of same students with all the same thinking pattern. Creativity and vitalityare killed by the same national curriculum, which lead to the failure of theeducation. Finally, diversified curriculum will alsocontribute to students' enthusiasm in studying and will tap their potential. For a well-known example, Bill Gate, who founded Microsoft in his college years, loved programming when he was in high school. As we can imagine, if same nationalcurriculum is required and Mr. Gate had to spend lots of time in solving sophisticatedchemistry problems, memorizing lots of annoying history events or readingprosaic poems, he is less likely to be so successful in the world of binarynumbers and instead, he may be just a college teacher who teaches computerscience. Lots of the students in the world are suffering same nationalcurriculums from their primary schools to the high school and many promisingscientists are destroyed all around the world. To sum up, same national curriculum is notgood for a nations' development, and it also hampers and dampens teachers' andstudents' enthusiasm. And diversified curriculum is so encouraging in thecurrent world. An embrace of diverse curriculum before college embodies themeaning of humanism. |
