看sdcar的逻辑入门一----argument 出现了一个小疑问 帮刺猬解答一下吧 Consider the following two statements: 1)Ming Li is smart. 2)Ming Li went to Peking University. Each statement by itself is simply a claim or an assertion. Can you combine them together to form an argument? One answer might be: Ming Li is smart because he went to PekingUniversity. Because Ming Li is smart, he went to Peking University. 当然这两个都是对的 刺猬都能看懂 后面sdcar谈到辨别premise与conclusion时 谈到两个方法 第一个方法就是找连接词 像because since whereas等等 从刚刚上面的第一句话中我们可以看出he went to Peking University is the premise since this statement follows the word because. 但是第二种方法刺猬就疑惑了 sdcar是这样说的:A second way to form an argument using exactly the same statements is:Because Ming Li is smart, he went to Peking University. 此时Ming Li is smart is now the premise. 刺猬的疑问:1.没有明白sdcar的第二种方法 因为觉得那两个句子的不同之处只是互换了位置 2. Ming Li is smart is now the premise 不也是根据because判断的吗? Every milk product from Three Deers must be recalled. These products contains melamine which could lead to renal failure. 1)Every milk product from Three Deers must be recalled because these products contains melamine which could lead to renal failure. 第一句较好理解 2)Becasue every milk product from Three Deers must be recalled, these products contains melamine which could lead to renal failure. 疑问三:这句刺猬感觉翻译不通啊 every milk product from Three Deers must be recalled 怎么可以做前提呢 和结论不搭吧
Statement 1. Ming Li is smart because he went to PekingUniversity. Statement 2. Because Ming Li is smart, he went to Peking University.
In statement 1, "he went to Peking University" is the premise. In statement 2, "Ming Li is smart" is the premise. These two statements are different in logic reasoning.
The point is: the stuff that follows "because" is the premise.
You may move "because bla bla" around, but as a whole, to form a sentence that has the same logic. Statement 1' (equivalent to Statement 1). Because Ming Li went to Peking University, he is smart. Statement 2' (equivalent to Statement 2). Ming Li went to Peking University because he is smart.
Don't get loss. Again, anything goes directly after "because" is the premise. To make a logically equivalent sentence, move "because bla bla" as a whole.
