banking / PE mostly hire first-year associates from MBA grads.. but considering ur background working on hk/us ipos, i think u definitely hv a shot as long as you are satisfied with just a entry-level position post MBA..

probably easier to go to a general industry firm for a senior position, and then switch to banking / PE as a D/MD or at least VP a few years later. I see someone mentioned Charles Li in earlier posts - but that's what happened 10 or 20 some years ago. soooooooo much more difficult now if not impossible.

Is General industry firm referred to law firm? You mean today it is impossible for a lawyer switch his career to ib?

谢谢各位的分析。我最近刚将GMAT考出，720分，08年申请LLM时考过tofel，109，不知这样的成绩能否冲击前五。其实我还是比较心仪芝加哥大学的MBA，毕竟在那里的法学院念过。

虽然本人比较率性，但由于已经成家，所以必须兼顾家人的感受。因此对成本收益还是有所考量，由于刚在北京置业，所以现金流比较紧张。至今比较踌躇，也许会暂缓一两年出去。

祝各位考出好成绩，实现自已的人生理想！
