Cass is pretty good at placing students in the city, I should say it's definitely not impossible. The change in immegration policy doesn't affect those who want to secure a job in big financial institutions.

Wow thank you very much for your reply..I posted this question in several forums and you are the very first to reply!!
When you say "doesn't affect ...in big financial institutions" what do you mean exactly? Are u saying that it is pretty easy for Cass students to find a job in big financial institutions? What about the Big 4?

Sorry but I cannot type Chinese. I meant that big institutions will sponsor your visa anyway. You don't need to worry about the visa if you get a full-time offer from them. About the difficulty of finding a job; although it sounds a bit cliché, it does have a lot to do with your past experience, networking, commitment and luck. I should say Cass provides a pretty good platform - not as good as LSE, Oxbridge etc., but I do see many Cass alumni in the city (say GSAM, HSBC, MS, M&G, Aberdeen Asset Management, Bloomberg, all from my observations). Having said that, the items I listed are really really important. Everyone has a shot if he/she is really committed to work in London. Hope that helps.

Big four keeps a reasonably large graduate class. They are not terribly hard to get into. The good thing is that they don't discriminate against candidates who do not have fancy degrees and/or internships, but there are many rounds in the application process - many questions (some are really stupid) and many tests. You cannot make any mistakes in either one of them. A lot of people fail the Big Four not because of lack of a strong background, but making some stupid mistakes and/or being lazy.

You are just so right about everything! That is why most people suggest me to stay in the States. A one-year or one-half-year program in London (and without PSW) probably won't provide me with enough time for job hunting. And if I fail to find a job at the end of the program, I'll have to go back to China. However, the US program lasts two years and I also get an OPT for one year after that. It is obvious that the US program is definitely a better choice (hopefully), although I prefer living in London instead.

I never know that! Someone told me that UK employers are mad about fancy undergraduate degrees with high GPA. The big 4 seem much fairer to all students. However, those tests sound terrible. Is it that only UK big 4 do that? Or all big 4 firms around the world are so strict about making mistakes?
