请教一道GWD语法。。。纠结死了！！！

额。。。答案给的是B，我觉得B不对啊，虽然大平行看起来满好看的，但是，首先那个it指谁啊？有人说指polar ice,我怎么就觉得指不到呢？我一恍惚觉得应该是指Antarctica 啊！而且最关键的是little polar ice和little of polar ice的区别，我觉得应该是little polar ice“几乎没有”更符合逻辑意思吧！我郁闷啊！
还有人选C啊，我赶脚那个be动词应该不能省吧？而且那个or else是个神马东西啊？能当连词吗？不是有人说这个是口语用法吗？？关键是口语用法我都没见过啊郁闷啊我要发飙了！
我当时选的A啊，我觉得A挺对的哇！so +adj后面不一定要加that吧，不然我们平时说you are so beautiful之类的啊。。。难道这种说法也是不符合书面表达的？？？
