A 700 is certainly enough for you to apply to top 50 programs and have good hopes of getting accepted, as long as everything else is in order (and it seems to be). Should you retake or not the GMAT? A good question, but I can't give you a direct answer. It depends on a few things. 1. Time – Right now you have an excellent score. You can make it more excellent for sure, but it takes a lot of time, which may be better spent on other things, (such as getting more leadership, your application, visiting and researching the school), but if you have time, why not? 2. Potential – I don’t know what your maximum GMAT potential is, but you probably do. Everybody reaches a point in the GMAT where they plateau, and just can't get higher. If you are testing 10 20 points higher than your current score, it may not be worth it to retake the GMAT for a maybe for 10 points more. But if you consistently test 40-50 points higher, then you know with a bit of luck, you can do better.
