USC students chased robber before he was shot by security

“Police said the suspect approached four students -- three men and one woman --  at West 28th and South Figueroa streets near USC's fraternity row and demanded items, which he placed in a backpack before fleeing, said Lt. Andy Neiman of the LAPD.”

wo male and two female students were walking westbound on 28th Street from Figueroa Street when a black male suspect approached them and demanded their property, according to the security officer standing outside Pi Beta Phi sorority house on The Row. The females gave their property to the suspect, who ran through a parking lot to 30th Street, where he was confronted by DPS officers. The two male students ran after the suspect and helped direct nearby LAPD officers to the scene. Another suspect was waiting in a nearby car.
