1. them指代的是chambers而不是tourists 详见语法笔记 此句的缺点就是them与其指代对象离得太远，不过GMAT是选5个里面最好的答案~so ..
2. 主句的时态是现在时，更重要的是，本句主要为了陈述客观事实，而非强调在过去某一个时间点，砖被垒起来了。

其实sc首要的是先看句意，然后才是分析~
我觉得好好看句意，lz就会发现within them应该是个地方，而对于这道题就是chambers~

第二道题我记得prep上曾经说过，像the way bababa的，都用 to do；（这点没太说清楚，小菜有点忘记了，lz可以查查prep的解释哈~）
且这里句子还是there be 结构~所以感觉到是陈述，所以用现在时，就没有必要用过去式~

其实sc首要的是先看句意，然后才是分析~

LZ解释很清晰，但是第一道题C、D解释中说The pronoun them seems to refer to tourists,which is nonsensical，这句话中说them指代tourists不太明白
