not really. do it when you're READY. generally speaking, the first two rounds have the same rate of admissions. The first round is compared to the previous year, so they'll accept but also wait for the second rounds. You'll get some obvious ADs, but many others will just get WL. Those WL don't really get reviewed until the 3rd round after the 2nd round has been reviewed and decided upon. So if your profile will not be improved between 1st and 2nd round, then applying early MIGHT help. But if it takes a while for you to fine tune your essay, wait for a promotion, or new grades to come out, then you should wait for the 2nd round.

3rd round are usually backups.... seats are very limited by then.

真心不是越早越好~我觉得除了rolling的，其他学校第一轮未必有优势~

我也觉得今年有一些学校没有越早越好有的R1竞争过于激烈了不过maryland这种一轮就招了好多的还是早点下手好吧
