为什么选B啊

A 不行 which指代前一个material
看原句 是有the most nutritious   blah blah的，这个不能变，所以可以排除C和E，而且这两个选项也改变了句子重心
再看剩下的B和D
明显可以看出是后面的shatter and fall 和shatters and falls 两个有主谓一致的问题，20 percent of the leaf and small-stem material 不能用单数shatters and falls 表示

网上有两种解释。。。
1.20 % of X and Y (Plural noun), modifying clause, shatters and falls (singular verb). It seems to be WRONG.
2.20 % of 【X and Y】, shatters and falls (singular verb). it seems to be right.

我也有个疑惑，为什么不是as many as 20% of leaves呢。。。

我认为答案应该是D。
在B中，the most nutritious of all parts of the plant指的是“nutritious”，不能作为“leaf and small-stem material” 的同位语。
D的同位语表达正确，as much as后跟单数正确。
