求问 Manhattan 语法书上的一个小练习题

A:The driver took the people for a ride who had been waiting.
B:  The driver took the people who had been waiting for a ride.
题目是A对,B对或A、B均不对中选一个。
书中给的答案是B对,表达准确,但B不是也有歧义么??
变成 the driver took the people, the people had been waiting for a ride.
求指导啊

here is the answer. as Tim said, It is a typo, the answer is supposed to be C: neither are clear
