答案： a     为什么不选c? 主句和从句主语一致时，不是可以省略从句主语吗？

省略的是主语和be 动词，此处如果一定要省的话，觉得before becoming President较好一些。

省略句很多种形式，下面这条法则是托福中随处可见的，ＪＪ看一下．

在时间，条件，让步，方式状语从句中，（不包括原因状语从句），若从句与主句一致，并且从句的谓语构成当中含有ＢＥ动词，那么从句主语和谓语中的ＢＥ动词可以同时省略．

这是个时间状语从句，但是从句中无be动词，所以从句主谓语均不能省．

定语从句可以同时省略 that be,which be,who be.

特定装语从句和主句的主语一致时，可以同时省略从句的主系，从句引导词一般是：although,though,even though, if, when, while, as
