In this argument, the author concludes that if you want to sell your home quickly and at a good price, you should use Adams . To support the claim the author first points out that Adams has 40 real estate agents, while Fitch has 25, many of whom work only part-time and Adams' revenue last year was twice as high as that of Fitch and included home sales that averaged $168,000, compared to Fitch's $144,000,. Then he also claims that ten years ago he listed his home with Fitch, and it took more than four months to sell while last year, when he sold another home, he listed it with Adams, and it took only one month. However, I find this conclusion suspicious in several ground.
One, the author unfairly assumes that the strength of Adams is more powerful than that of Fitch. Though Adams has 40 real estate agents while Fitch only has 25, many of whom work only part-time, however, it is entirely possible that the agent efficiency of Fitch is higher than that of Adams. In addition, though Adams' revenue last year was twice as high as that of Fitch , it is quite possible that profits that Fitch made were more than those of Adams. Even if the money that Adams earned last year was more than that of Fitch, perhaps in the other years the contrary is true and the case of last year is just accidental thus unrepresentative. Thus, without detailed and accurate information about two firms, the conclusion is unpersuasive.
Two, the author provides no information to justify the assumption that the types of houses that two firms sell are the same, thus the conclusion that Adam would sell the house at a higher price is unwarranted. It is very likely that the houses that Fitch sells are targeting at consumers with low income, and compared with the houses of Adams, they have relatively bad locations and facility conditions, thus, the home sales of Fitch are less than those of Adams. Therefore, the low sales do not indicate a bad ability of selling houses. Without ruling out this possibility, the author cannot convinced me that Adams would have a better sale than Fitch.
Three, the assumption that Adams would sell houses more quickly is also irrational. perhaps the market situation of last year was different with that of ten years ago, in which an increasingly more people would like to purchase a house. Even if the market conditions were similar, it is also possible that the house that the author sold last year has a better location and is better designed , thus taking Adams less time to sell. So without showing clearly that the conditions of these two houses and markets of last year and ten years ago, the conclusion that Adams would sell houses more quickly is also unwarranted.
Summed up, the recommendation is not on sound reasoning and therefore unconvincing as it stands. To bolster it the author must provide clear and accurate information that the profits that each agent made in Adams are really more that that of Filts. That the types and conditions of houses that two firms sell are the same. In addition must prove that the two houses' conditions that the author sold and the markets situation between ten years ago and last year were also similar. 可以帮忙打打分吗?限时写总是会出现特别多的语法错误,很郁闷~ |
