This passage describes the novel named Human Bondage, written by a British writer WSM.
The story begins as Philips became an orphan when he was a child. He was sent to his uncle's home and raised by his uncle and aunt. When he was young, he is academically talented.   eople told him that he should go to Oxford, but he did not want to. Instead, he went to German. There he met another guy who shared some interests with him.
Then he went back to his uncle's home ...
Then he went to London ...
Then Paris ... He though he was an artist.... A poor woman student loved him, but he did not realize. She committed suicide after running out of money.
He thought he was merely able to be a mediocre artist. Then he went back to his uncle's home again.... His uncle died... He went to medical school...He fell in love with a woman, but the love ended.
... She fell in love with Sally, proposed to her, and was accepted. Finally realize his philosophical idea: the simplest pattern of a man (to born, grow, learn, work, marry, have children, and die) is the most perfect. |
