Congratulations on your recent recommendation of admission to the MSB in Finance Program. The purpose of this email is to clarify the next steps in the admission process. Now that the Smith School of Business has recommended your application for admission, your application has been forwarded to the Graduate School at the University of Maryland. The Graduate School oversees all graduate programs at the university, and they make the final admission decision on all candidates. They authenticate transcripts and test scores, and review financial documents for international students. For international students that are formally admitted, the Graduate School also prepares the I-20 document. This process typically takes about 4 weeks from the time of the Smith School's admission recommendation to a final admission notification from the Graduate School. As soon as the Graduate School renders a final admission decision on your application, the Smith School MBA/MS Admissions Office will email you to let you know your status. If you are formally admitted, we will have your official admission letter and I-20 document (if applicable) ready to express mail to you. Only after a formal decision has been made should you submit your deposit to reserve your seat at http://www.rhsmith.umd.edu/mba/payment/DepositPaymentMS.html
After your deposit is received, our office will express mail your formal admission letter and your I-20 to you. We appreciate your patience as the University of Maryland finalizes the admission decision on your file.
