I took the toefl test in 25 this month, I remember a structure question, but I donnot know the answer:

the choice is the order of 5 words:they are:

the, half, land, area, of

一块相当于加国一半面积的土地。。。。。这是一个独立主格形式（或者是同位语？）的结构，中间省掉了谓语动词--is

昨天问了一个美国人（UT的英语教授），他说按他的语言习惯其顺序应该是：half the land area of Canada

我现在实在是不明白了。希望大虾指教！

It's only half the size of a normal violin.

They offered to pay half the cost of repairs.

嗯哼，偶有个问题，land和area放在一起是否会重复？

或许应该是land (is) half the area of Canada? 如此感觉更好。。。。

这里的area指面积吧，land area陆地面积
