即:眼镜有缺陷的的人不能在 moderately bright light看见东西,因为他们对most components of bright light过分敏感,但他们不对components of moderately bright light过分敏感。

People with certain eye disorder unable to see moderate bright light other than red, but they can see most components of dim light and red components of bright light.

“Eyeglasses that are transparent to red components of light but filter out other components of light help these people see in moderately bright light.” If other components of bright light other than red are filter out, their eye would react normally to the bright light, or their retinas will be overwhelmed.

B: “In an otherwise darkened concert hall, these people will see a dimly illuminated red exit sign more clearly than small dim white lights that mark the aisles.” The passage make no comparison between red components of dim light and its whote components. It simply say that “these people do, however, show normal sensitivity to most components of dim light.”

A.    In all moderately dim light in which people without the disorder can read large print, people with the disorder cannot read such print.
B.    In an otherwise darkened concert hall, these people will see a dimly illuminated red exit sign more clearly than small dim white lights that mark the aisles.
Their retinal cells are also not excessively sensitive to red components of moderately bright light,此处偷换 dimly illuminated red错误
C.    These people typically see more acutely at night and in dim light than do most people who do not have the disorder.
错,文中说这些病人show normal sensitivity to most components of dim light.
D.    Eyeglasses that are transparent to red components of light but filter out other components of light help these people see in moderately bright light.
E.    These people perceive colors other than red in the same way as do most people who do not have the disorder.
Their retinal cells are also not excessively sensitive to red components of moderately bright light.

两种light(moderate light & dim light)
眼睛有病的人不能看到moderate light(因为其unbearably intense),但可以看到dim light(因为其normal sensitive)。

我觉得正确理解overwhelm对自己解题很有帮助:overwhelm: to affect (someone) very strongly
