Graduate Research Assistant Position, Computational Biophysics/Biochemistry

Description:Applications are invited for one open graduate research assistant position in computational biophysics/biochemistry in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

Talented and highly motivated candidates with research background/research interests in molecular dynamics study of protein structure/function, biomembrane structure/function, structure-based drug design or methodology developments for multiscale model are especially encouraged to apply.

Experience in scientific programming, computational modeling expertise in atomistic simulation techniques (such as Molecular Dynamics, Quantum Mechanics, Monte Carlo, Docking, homology model), virtual screening and lead optimization, and continuum model (such as Finite Element Method),and familiarity with UNIX/Linux operating system are highly desirable.

The candidate has the opportunities to obtain additional training in molecular and cell biology experiments.
