Derman哥你好。想请教下Derman，我如果，放弃之前的决定，今年不去法国，然后努力考gmat，重新申请高商，再来一遭，这种做法是否妥当？我对自己的实力很有信心，当然，如果万一结果不好，我也认了，毕竟尝试过，不会像现在这样因为后悔自己的不尝试而终日惴惴不安度日。如果放弃，这个空档期我还会去找份比较meaningful的实习做做，再补充完善下自己的经历。The point is，巴黎三校梯队和tier2的区别真的非常非常大吗？他们真的值得我继续去通过“等待”一年放弃“现有”换来在那里读书的经历吗？btw，什么女生大了嫁不出去之类的问题。。。先忽略这个，I don't care.

十字路口的时候真的希望有Derman哥赐教，现在好迷茫。

To answer your question, yes! I would say Em-Lyon/Edhec are tier II. A 8-10 schools should fall into tier III. During my stay in Paris, I rarely met somebody from Tier III school (maybe it's because my social circle is not that big).

When it comes to whether spend a year in preparing your GMAT/TOEFL, it's completely your call. You can spend a year doing internship in top company (make sure it's a top one, it would be very helpful when you look for internship in Paris), push up the GMAT/TOEFL, and polish the application.

One thing I have to mention, 99% people feel full of momentum at the moment they make the decision, and then waste time here and there (weibo, korean TV, karaokee, anything an ordinary Chinese college student would do), and the whole Gap Year is canned. Don't make it happen to you if you decide to stay here for one more year.

Yup. If you are targeting commercial banking, citi is one of the top, if you are targeting auditing, big 4 are the top.

I should rephrase my words in this way: make sure it's a LEGIT one, where you can learn real things and the way multinational companies do business!

Hi Derman, your suggestions are always inspiring. Thank you so much for your help and your answers.
I would like to know if it's possible for a non finance major to get an internship/job in any investment bank? Since Hec has a major called "Financial info. audit and consulting", I wanna choose this major but I also wanna try IB. Actually I'm interested more in corporate finance rather than market finance. My concern is that IB prefer students major in Finance. So I'm expecting your opinions and your answer.
