楼主，是否知道EMlyon金融方向毕业的竞争力怎么样？现在看下来貌似是前五个高商里最弱的。。。我在为将来要不要读金融犹豫。。。

Hard to judge, it's extremely individual dependent. Edhec might leave an impression that it's the top one in Finance in France, and people may believe ESSec is only good at luxe, not anything else. At the end of day, it's merely marketing points.

Know some French of my year in Emlyon , doing pretty well in Finance, one is now prop trader in BNP; another is equity derivatives sales in Merrill, if you ask me how I feel about Emlyon, I would say EMlyon may be even better than Edhec, cuz this is what my small sample group shows.

Don't worry too much about schools' capacity in terms of major. All top five will help open doors for you guys, and the rest is left to you.

Yeah, u r right.  For those who are considering school choice:

1. escp vs edhec with scholarship. Definitely ESCP.
2. edhec vs a no name school in Paris (like INSEEC?) Definitely Edhec.

LZ你好！整篇帖子翻下来觉得收获不少啊！
我明年本科毕业，个人对金融什么的不大感兴趣，是想报奢管的。翻了几个学校发现奢管的都是MBA课程，有看到之前帖子里说读个奢管的MBA还不如直接读一个GE。具体是为什么这样说呢？也有看到不少人说MBA还是有几年工作经验再读价值比较大，那我这样的大学毕业生读的话是不是相对起来价值没那么大？毕业之后也不一定能进入奢侈品领域工作，以及开始工作的话还是从基层开始做起呢？
希望LZ能给分析一下~谢谢！！

1. You are open to more opportunities in GE than in Luxe MBA. Even if you find out Luxe is not the thing for you after getting in the program, you always have the flexibility to switch to anything else in a GE program, not the case in Luxe MBA.

2. To some extent, yes, MBA brings you and the school with more value if you have some working experience beforehand, cuz you have many more things to share, and better position yourself. On the flip side, GE is a shortcut leading to some very good starting point where you will never get with only a bachelor degree from a chinese universities. Let's make it this way, your dream is to work for a large (full time or internship) luxury brand in Paris, e.g, Hermes /Chanel, GE is definitely the way it is. Luxe MBA or MBA in general will not help to make the cut (cuz those big French names rarely hire some mid-level managers from a MBA program, they rather train and promote some smart kids(aka. GE graduates) internally.

3. Like I said, MBA in luxe may not help you to make the cut, it's possible, but it's harder than for a GE graduate. As a GE graduate, you are still considered GREEN and things can be educated from scratch, for a MBA graduate who already had a few years' working experience, it's gonna be hard to formulate the particular luxury mindset.
