Other words are simple.

Structure: not very hard but time was very tight. Some of them I was not careful to think because of the time pressure although 12-28 was ok.

Then talk about some sites could be easily found because they have obvious indication.  However, other sites was hard to be identified because no clue. An example is a site found by accident when they dug metro line in the New Mexico City.(question)

From MW rigorous should be sever but it was not in the choice. Thus, be careful

given the context, I think it should be thorough.  

I just got some examples for longman. it should be thorough.
