15。 although compact cars make up only 38 percent of the vehicles in traffic, 48 percent of the cars that are followed too closed are compact. on the other hand, fewer than 27 percent of the cars tailgatd are middle-sized, even though middle-sized cars make up 31 percent of the vehicles in traffic.

A: the shape of compact cars makes it easy for a tailgater to see far enough ahead around such cars to minimize the chances of a rear-end collision.
根据统计数字应该是COMPACT CARS 被追尾的多才对呀?

16。 the trustee of the avonbridge summer drama workshop have decided to offer scholarships to the top 10 percent of local applicants and the top 10 percent of nonlocal applicants as judged on the basis of a qualifying audtion. they are doing this to ensure that only the applicants with the most highly evaluated auditions are offered scholarships to the program.
Q: why the trustees' plan might not be effective in achieving its goal?
A: some of the applicants who are offered scholarships should have less highly evaluated auditions than some of the applicants who are not offered scholarships.
答案跟题干有关系么?

17。a group of scientists studying calcium metabolism in laboratory rats discovered that removing the rats's parathyroid glands resulted in the rats' having substantially lower than normal levels of calcium in their blood. thsi discovery led the scientists to hypothesize that the function of the parathyroid gland is to regulate the level of calcium in the blood by raising that level when if falls below the normal range. in a furter experiment, scientists removed not only the parathyroid gland but also the adrenal gland from rats. they made the surprising discovery that the level of calcium in the rats' blood decreased much less sharply than when the parathyroid gland alone was removed.

A: the adrenal gland acts to lower the level of calcium in the blood.
我得出的结论恰好相反。既然只切除PG时,C下降的很多,而PG 和AG都切除时,C下降慢。AG应该是升高或者保持C才对呀!

问中是说those people with the most highly evalutated auditions才被提供奖学金。而选项A指出those people with less highly  evaluated auditions被提供了奖学金,不正说明了为什么plan实现其goal的无效性吗??
