这题还有一点是Rhretorical construction的问题,我当时错选了B,B的解释里面: the comparative terms more than should immediately follow $5 a barrel.
选项E也存在这个问题。 Manhattan书里面也提到特别注意more这些adverb/adjective的位置问题。逻辑上, paying about $5 a barrel more for crude oil than ... 这里more修饰about $5 a barrel,非常accurate 而 paying about $5 a barrel for crude oil more than ...这里more修饰前面整个"paying .... for crude oil",即paying more,既可以表示单价提高导致总花费提高,也可以表示“单价既定为about $5 a barrel,而多付一些钱——也就是多买一些商品”,这就造成了逻辑上的ambiguity.
Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than last because refiners are paving about S5 a barrel more for crude oil than thev were last year. (A)Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than last because refiners are paying about $5 a barrel more for crude oil than they were (B)Heating-oil prices are expected to rise higher this year over last because refiners pay about $5 a barrel for crude oil more than they did (C)Expectations are for heating-oil prices to be higher this year than last year's because refiners are paying about $5 a barrel for crude oil more than they did (D)It is the expectation that heating-oil prices will be higher for this year over last because refiners are paying about $5 a barrel more for crude oil now than what they were (E)It is expected that heating-oil prices will rise higher this year than last year's because refiners pay about $5 a barrel for crude oil more than they did 这题有争议的还是AE选项,个人看了搜索了很多帖子,然后很多N人都总结什么状语还主谓比较神马的,看到我一头雾水,我看了一下句子,突然个人认为E选项有点歧义,但是OG貌似没有说出来 就针对比较而言,很清晰的句意就是今年的油比去年的高 然后E选项歧义就出来了,than last year’s (will)好了,如果这句是省略了will,就改变了句子的意思了,变成今年油价上涨的幅度会比去年油价上涨的幅度要高,但是如果没有will,就可以表示出今年的油比去年高了。。。。然后我个人有个知识点不是很清楚,为什么句末是last year不是应该用一个一般过去时么?怎么来了个they were。。。搜索了好久帖子都没看见,求NN们回答 -- by 会员 DUKB24 (2012/1/6 19:05:40)
