为了强调人数的众多，将four times表示倍数的词放到了前面。

答案倒是容易选出，可是怎么到底怎么来看这句话呢？

请问这句话哪个是主语呀？ 是four times as many Americans were killed as 吗？好奇怪！

有两种说法：一是as能作代词，二是as后面有省略。

那么不管哪种说法，如果有明白的xdjm能不能把被代替的部分补到句子里，或者把省略的部分补到句子里给我讲讲，让我明白这句子到底是怎么回事，真的感谢！

as....as...後面的as 也可以做關代(=who, which..) 也就是說具有連接詞的成分. 比較用法對我們最困難得是省略,所以只要把省略的部分補上去,妳就明白了. 我補上省略的部分：

..four times as many Americans were killed as those(=Americans) would later be killed on the beaches of Normandy during D-Day. 因為as又兼具關代的作用,妳可以把as換成who：

..four times as many Americans were killed who those(=Americans) would later be killed on the beaches of Normandy during D-Day. 在此who和those 已經重複了, those刪掉變成-->

..four times as many Americans were killed who would later be killed ...剛剛說as具有關係代詞who,which的用法, 所以這裡用as代替who 就變成原題的樣子囉！！
