580 is all you got for two years studying the GMAT? really?
It doesn't take a mentally challenged person to question your ability to survive a top mba program academically, but again, George W went to HBS, and if they had GMAT at that time, he probably would've scored in your range too.
never heard of it, but don't give up! if you don't try you don't succeed, right?if that's your dream, just go for it, and maybe apply to some lower ranked schools as safety schools.
If you cannot wait for one more year, if you really want to apply for Class 2014, just try it! Chase your dream. The deadline of HBS is coming soon. Don't think too much.
If not, retake Gmat, then prepare for application next year.
A few military guys went to HBS with scores less than 600. But remember 2 principles: 1. You are assessed against people who hold the same passport. 2. You are assessed against people who come from the same industries. Think about who your competitors are and you will find the answer.

Thank you for this input, good to know! Unfortunately, I don't have military background. Also, I have no way to tell how many applicants has the same industry background or nationality like me. I'll definitelly retake the test, but will probably wait with the application until next year unless something unexpected happens.
I thought about taking the GRE instead. Maybe I'll do better there...Anyone knows if they treat candidates with GRE differently? I heard there is a preference for candidates with GMAT?
I heard it too, don't know if it's true.Anyway, the GRE is supposed to be harder, so i'm not sure it will help. just study hard and take the GMAT again. it's probably too late for this year, maybe wait until next year.
