Key word “linear perspective and anatomy”;track the key word back to line 18. Read the sentence before line 18. Notice “when…ceased…,new technical elements had to be adopted to maintain the intellectual elementin art.”; both linear perspective and anatomy are examples of technicalelements. In other words, if these two were not existed, some other technical elementsmust be emerged to maintain the intellectual element in art.
Therefore B is the correct answer.
