You translated the passage into Chinese?! I would say that is not necessary... One thing you want to take away from GMAT is how to think and reason in English. Even if you had a hard time understanding the passages, you should still try to understand it in a English way, for the benefit of your true understanding, let along the time you wasted in translation.
It might be hard to think in English at first. Just keep trying.
I definately agree with mindfree. GMAT focus on your thinking ability not on your language ability. The highest level of cracking GMAT is the transition of our thinking. I am endeavouring to achieve this goal, although far from achieving.
