看来，还是A正确了。A is as essential to B as to C, 第二个as后不能跟句子，大家觉得对吗？

和lucre gg商榷一下。

1. 首先，我收回我前面提到的话

"句子里有两个主语，我感觉这好像是不允许的，除了比较句，如as ... as/ than"

. 大全里有很多反例，所以我收回。

2. 关于lucre在google上搜到的例句，我不能被说服。理由如下:

a. ETS有自己prefer的语法结构，而google却是包罗万象。比如，google上有无数条consider sth to be sth, 甚至longman上也有类似例句，但是ETS仍然prefer consider sth sth. 所以，我保留原来意见，就是要有一个逗号，除非能从大全上找出一个反例。

b. 我搜索了一下大全，毫无例外，都是有逗号的。事实上，我看到A的时候犹豫了一下，就是考虑到有可能是A do as B do。但是马上就排除了，因为没有逗号，长得不象平时看到的正确答案。

这里是我找的一些大全的题号: 79, 171, 255, 440, 564, 639, 689, 895, 965.

3. 请注意D选项中省略的是essential, 而to powered flight没有省略，就是很明确的告诉我们共同部分是essential, 不是to短语，所以不能认为"the invention of the propeller was essential to the development of surgery（and?/or?） to powered flight".

第二个as后不能跟句子，大家觉得对吗？

mm这个认识是错误的，比较句型里这是可以的，比如OG 89.

这里应该是一个as...as比较结构，而不是A is as B is的结构。理由见13楼.

Simplify the sentence structure:

A. the invention was essential as invention

D. the invention was as essential as invention

D. is better.  But A is not necessarily wrong. Grammatically, it is not wrong, just doesn't convey the right message.

Agree ??  

rhod is right. as ... as structure express the meaning more precisely.

I checked "这里是我找的一些大全的题号: 79, 171, 255, 440, 564, 639, 689, 895, 965.", but fail to discover the connection with 'as'.  I'm lost.

我刚好作完这15题，我先用essential to 排除了B, C， 接着用as...as... 排除A, E.
