184. Some students prefer to study alone. Others prefer to study with a group of students. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
In the daily life, people are continuously facing many questions, analysis of which will assist them to make wise choice. One of such intriguing problems is whether to study alone or study with a group of students. Both of the two ways of studying have advantages and disadvantages. For me as well as for many students, to employ the suitable studying method for different occasions will render the best result.
To begin with, studying alone will help students to concentrate on what he is reading or analyzing without any disruptions. Scientific research buttress the conclusion that concentration is necessary to memorize the content effectively. People usually are not able to remember anything when absent-minded. The capability of focusing on specific subject without distraction need to be fostered during the process of learning. Future job may demand the worker to deal with urgent situation independently. For example a doctor must put forward correct plan to save a patient in an emergency. The doctor cannot discuss with his colleagues due to the time limit. In this aspect, such ability to solve problems individually must be trained during study.
Next, to study with a group is of enormous value for a student to cultivate the team spirit. The complexity of the science and technology accounts for the necessity of teamwork. In the ancient time, many scientists solved enchanting problems independently. However since the Industrial Revolution, human beings have invented and used numerous innovative machines, such as the sewing machine or even the computer. The projects are becoming increasingly complicated, leaving impossible for a single person to even think about them. The tremendous amount of information overwhelms human beings nowadays. From this point, to work with other people in a group, to strive for a project together and to share the job responsibility have become a basic part during study.
IN addition, to communicate with other student will be rewarding not only academically but also emotionally. Human beings differ from other creatures because of social connections. Students must be able to exchange ideas and knowledge with others for better understanding of life. For example, in a group to finish an assignment of how to improve the environment on campus, students need to accumulate information from different libraries for reference. It is virtually practical for them to split the job and discuss later. Everyone will offer his collected information, bravely speaking in front of group members. Such experience will be of great significance to prepare future career.
To sum up, both to study alone and with a group are substantial for a student to cope with the changing society. To succeed in the arena, he must both be able to study proficiently without interruption and to share his ideas with others. An isolated student cannot accomplish or fulfill, yet one without individuality cannot achieve. Every student should learn to balance the two ways of study and allocate time and energy.
