题目：The best test of an argument is the argument's ability to convince someone with an opposing viewpoint.
写作要求：Writea response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statementand explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.

题目：A recent study of eighteen rhesus monkeys provides clues as to the effects of birth order on an individual's levels of stimulation. The study showed that in stimulating situations (such as an encounter with an unfamiliar monkey), firstborn infant monkeys produce up to twice as much of the hormone cortisol, which primes the body for increased activity levels, as do their younger siblings. Firstborn humans also produce relatively high levels of cortisol in stimulating situations (such as the return of a parent after an absence). The study also found that during pregnancy, first-time mother monkeys had higher levels of cortisol than did those who had had several offspring.

写作要求：Write a response in which you discuss one or more alternative explanations that could rival the proposed explanation and explain how your explanation(s) can plausibly account for the facts presented in the argument.

关于issue 146 的提纲，我想到了
可以作为标准之一，但不是唯一的标准。
1）the primary purpose of argument is to support the viewpoint of speaker. 需要逻辑清晰，论据充足。
2）argument 能否说服持反对观点的人，不仅与argument 本身有关，还和speaker & audience 有关。如果碰到的听众是很容易改变想法的人，或者碰到的是死脑筋的人，永远不听取别人的看法。speaker讲述的态度，语气，等等。

2）argument 能否说服持反对观点的人，不仅与argument 本身有关，还和speaker & audience 有关。如果碰到的听众是很容易改变想法的人，或者碰到的是死脑筋的人，永远不听取别人的看法。speaker讲述的态度，语气，等等。

我还不是很明白argument具体能指什么，我的提纲如下：
是一个好标准，但是不够
1.和对立方的交流有利：发现错误、忽略；理解更深；产生新想法
2.但是有时候，即便获得了对方的认可，可能也发现不了潜在的问题：因为他们对于问题的认识，可能并不深刻。这时，甚至必须要请教支持argument的人来评价（因为结果正确不一定过程正确）
3.从上观之，what really matters， is the understanding on an argument, rather than the position they take
4.实际上有时候，大家的understanding都不够，这时候需要的是put into practice(if possible), 来产生真正的understanding
