Just proves my theory.

"several handfuls" is the "quantity" requirement for an adequate sample.

To be a "range", we need something like "from 10 to 1,000 handfuls"; or if you would like to explain it as "types", then we need examples of types.

Anyhow, it's up to you. Don't have to agree with me. I think I'm done with it.

Taurus MM: O.K.  What you said does make sense.

Coming from GMAT CR way of thinking, I was uncomfortable of the word "requirement" in choice C.  What's typical does not necessrily represents a requirement.  Maybe I should temporarily switch gear and suspend my CR instinct while dealing with TOEFL?

ROBERTGG你想多了.

requirement就是说的要每次取一个研究样本的时候, 一个样本中要有几捧土. 而不是一个样品就一捧土.

我跟roberrt  想的有相似之处. 总觉得requirement 不爽.  可是的确思路转换有的问题. 从句意来看, range 也很勉强.
