答案是"A", 为什么？？？

后面有of the ocean修饰, 所以这个表面是个特定的表面, 而不是任何表面, 所以用定冠词表限定.

另外,  可数名词不能以单数形式单独存在. 要么有冠词, 要么有代词在前面, 要么变复数.
