what is the basis of your statement? facts?

800是94%吧，790肯定不到90%了。你要是确定再考一次数学800作文也比现在高就去考吧，当然也得考虑机会成本了。另外verbal真的不是很重要，很多学校也知道中国学生跑到海外机考的事情。。。

Dude, in each program you have to compete with more than 20 Chinese applicants whom almost(if not all) have 800 math scores.

English is not your native language, so people are fine with somewhat low verbal and AWA score, but if you get 790(which means you have made at least 3 mistakes in the exam), what is your comparative advantages?

Get a high score in GRE doesn't help you, but low score is a real concern. As a Chinese who are in general considered as good at math, you need to have 800. 790 is not the end of the day, but may bring you into a very unfavorable position.

And why not try GMAT? It is much easier to get a high score...And I think at least for top programs, 720GMAT is enough.

it's really costly for me to re-take verbal and quant (I don't think you can retake only one of them)

Nobody care about that percentile, they only care about your percentile in their applicant pool, which might be quite low.

Most people find it quite easy especially when they have experience in GRE. I guess 1 month is enough, but it may vary case by case.

Then go with your 790. As I said, 790 is not impossible, but a real concern.


Finance application is extremely competitive, I would rather spend some time to save this disadvantage, which might be the easiest one compared to other important issues as recommendation letters.
