对with结构的小总结，望NN及版主拍砖

昨天整理Manhattan的时候看到的例子：

独立词组。

独立词组由一个名词和一个名词修饰语组成。它不是修饰靠近它的词，而是修饰整个句子。如：His head held high, Owen walked out of the store.前面那句就是独立词组。首先，held high是修饰his head的，his head held high修饰后面整个句子。

想要把这个独立词组移到句尾，可以改为： Owen walked out of the store, his head held high. 或者Owen walked out of the store with his head held high.  我想这里应该是那种不需要考虑逻辑主语的情况吧，不过貌似不是表示原因的……  但是应该可以延伸一下。

我的意思就是，独立主格：既然它里头有一个宾语（名词）了，那就不用再考虑逻辑主语了。。不知道为什么版主说要考虑T T
我觉得，只要主句和分句是有那种表延伸，或表因果等这种关系在里头，用with独立主格就没有错啊~
只要独立主格中的名词和主句有紧密逻辑关系就好啊，不用一定要和主句主语一样啊。。

这只是我的看法啊><

我想的跟你一样 也是觉得既然如果是独立主格  当然是有它自己独立的逻辑主语 这都是高中的知识了....但是也不清楚为什么斑竹说也要考虑 尤其是在表原因的时候说不用考虑...晕。
还有楼主 就是那个猴子的那个题，我看了以后到没觉得凌乱。我觉得那句 "修饰主句" 有问题。 因该改为修饰相应的动词或非谓语动词，等等。因为独立主格结构本来就是状语看做修饰动词嘛，离这个结构 最近的非谓语动词是sleeping, 逻辑主语是Monkey。 后面的 腿啊 手啊的 都是belong to Monkey. 不知道你认同不

本人语法特别弱。。各种状语什么的都不明白。。。想问这个为啥不对啊？？？
以前不是经常见到这样结构的句子么：I went to school, with ...hanging on my shoulder.(例子举得不好凑合看)

难道这种结构的都是错的哦？？

我觉得这是传说中的夹心修饰~状语肯定不能修饰名词的啊，状语是用来修饰动词或整个句子的。
在你那道题，你可以理解with结构是向后修饰那半句话，就如同你举得例子那样。
但同时，你也可以理解那个with结构是修饰前面那个unlike后面的名词的定语的啊~

而且，我觉得你【】中，最后那个resulting是个大错误吧。。and resulting无平行项啊。。

例：Visitors to the park have often looked into the leafy canopy and seen monkeys sleeping on the branches, with arms and legs hanging like socks on a clothesline.
那句话，再结合那个例子。。然后我就凌乱了。。哈哈

我不知道这个题你是怎么理解的，我看了下其他人的解释，都是因为在说这个with的逻辑主语问题，但是其实这里如果仔细看的话。前面的with 并列应该是做原因状语。既然是原因，（按照斑竹大人）的解释，就不用去考虑 with的逻辑主语问题。 其他选项各有各的问题。
现在经常碰到这样的情况，一个with 复合结构+ 主句。 很多人解释（包括manhattan的人也在说 with 是表示有 或者没有， 有一种跟主句主语的逻辑上的关联，是主句的主语有这个“with” 的概念 若果主句主语不符合这个概念，是有问题的
但是会碰到  The end of the eighteenth century saw the emergence of prize-stock breeding, {with individual bulls and cows receiving awards, fetching unprecedented prices, and exciting enormous interest whenever they were put on show } 这样的结构。 这里按照斑竹大人讲的，应该是做伴随，那么伴随的话 就应该考虑逻辑主语 即上面所说的 ”有“还是”没有“的概念。请问下，这里的主语是end....  end 和with怎么会有逻辑   end有individual bulls????
但是 Visitors to the park have often looked into the leafy canopy and seen monkeys sleeping on the branches, with arms and legs hanging like socks on a clothesline。
这个句子就能说明monkey和arms 和legs 有逻辑上的“ 有” 这个概念
请大家看看 实在是不知道怎么解释了

我发上去的关于deer population的那题我觉得是表示原因，所以不需要注意with结构的逻辑主语

我觉得以下两个句子其实是雷同的
The end of the eighteenth century saw the emergence of prize-stock breeding, with individual bulls and cows receiving awards, fetching unprecedented prices, and exciting enormous interest whenever they were put on show

Visitors to the park have often looked into the leafy canopy and seen monkeys sleeping on the branches, with arms and legs hanging like socks on a clothesline

我认为with不能牵强地翻译成“有....”，而是作伴随表状态来根据逻辑意思来修饰临近的那个主语，第一句中就是the emergence of prize-stock breeding，而第二句则为monkeys..
但是这样理解又与斑竹说的with作伴随需要注意逻辑主语的情况相矛盾..
因此我同意楼主说的独立主格的逻辑主语不需要和主句主语相一致

LZ 今天在08版PREP语法笔记里看到这样一句话，我觉得支持了你说的独立主格的逻辑主语不需要和主句主语相一致的观点：
Absolute phrases do not directly connect to or modify any specific word in the rest of the sentence; instead, they modify the entire sentence, adding information.
