I agree with the statement that pets should be treated like family members. If you have kept a pet with love and patience, you will understand and support my idea.


I would say that pets are our good friends, especially dogs. I have raised a dog when I was a little boy. As I am the only child in my family, I do not have friends at my age when I was very little. All I could do is to play with my boring toys, talking to them although they never talk to me, until I had my little dog, Terry. He was so small and lovely at that time, afraid of everything around him. But we became close friends very quickly, playing and running and even eating together, which was forbidden by my mother. Terry companied with me for a long time, almost 10 years. I did realize the changes took place on him, he ate less, unwilling to move, seemed to be not happy, I thought he was ill . I took him to the pet hospital, but the doctor said there was nothing wrong with Terry, he was just old . After thathe seldom played with me , ate even less , theonly thinghe would like to do was to sat beside me , thinking , full of sadness in his eyes. Just like he was thinking about his whole life with me . I spent more time accompanying with him, brazing him . I know he did not have much time .Although I was very unwilling to see it happen, the day ultimately came. He left me in a quiet morning , quietly and calmly .


That period of time was really a suffering time for me . My best friend , brother , family member left me forever . After that , I never keep any pets because I know keeping a pet means your responsibilityto your pet . Pets should not be hurt because they give unconditional love to you , they love you or even protect you no matter what happens. Just because you are not only their owners , you are the most important ones for them .


So for what reason can we not treat our pets like family members?
