This is scary my friend. If you quit your job, and start something ENTIRELY new, the adcom might wonder “well why not wait another year, when you can bring some better recent work experience.” Now, the one case in which you wont have to worry about that, would be if your new job is VERY similar to your old job. That way, the adcom would see it as a continuation of your current role. No need to work there for a year, since there are many similarities between the two jobs. But if you are doing something entirely new, the adcom will probably want you to wait an additional year. Make sense?
